THE PRACTICE

PK Mullick, MD & Associates, PC is a private complete psychiatric care center based in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh. Our office has been serving the Pittsburgh area since 1986 with a focus on treating an immense variety of psychiatric conditions. Our goal is to treat clients to remission and maximize their quality of life.

Prabir K Mullick

Prabir K Mullick, M.D.

Dr. Mullick opened the practice in 1986. He graduated from St. Francis Medical Center and worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings till 2002. Later, he joined the Western Psychiatric Institute (WPIC) and was in charge of one of the dual diagnosis units. Along with his service at WPIC, he also joined Western Pennsylvania Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) and headed the consultation liaison service at West Penn Hospital. He taught medical students, residents, nurses, and PAs at St.Francis Medical, WPIC, WPAHS, and at the clinic. Dr. Mullick was awarded the Best Doctor Award from NAMI in 1996. He also received the "Outstanding Service Award" from AAPI in 2016. He was the director of the Clozapine clinic at WPIC until retiring from this role in 2013. Currently, he runs one of the largest Clozapine clinics in the Greater Pittsburgh area. He treats all types of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, bi-polar, Schizophrenia and addiction psychiatry including Suboxone. Dr.Mullick proudly serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and is involved in many Voluntary services.

Manohar Shetty, M.D.

Dr. Shetty joined P.K. Mullick MD & Associates in 1996. Dr. Shetty is a graduate of St. Francis Medical Center and joined Dr. Mullick in his professional endeavors at WPIC, WPAHS, and P.K. Mullick MD and Associates. Dr. Shetty has extensive experience with dual diagnosis patients through Forbes Regional Hospital. He has treated and currently treats all types of addictions including opiates, alcohol, cocaine, inhalants, hallucinogens, marijuana, and herbal supplements.

Joshua E. Palmer, DNP, PMHNP-BC, RN

Dr. Joshua Palmer joined P.K. Mullick and Associated in 2020.  He is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner specializing in the treatment of anxiety, mood disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, substance use, and severe persistent mental illness such as schizophrenia.  In the past 15 years, Dr. Palmer has worked with individuals suffering from severe mental illness as a case manager, a service coordinator, and a psychiatric nurse.  Dr. Palmer had previously focused his career in the  Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model who provided medical case management, outreach, and psychiatric treatment for individuals with serious persistent mental illness who have demonstrated a high service need such as multiple hospitalization, ER visits, or difficulty in maintaining stability in the community.

Joshua Palmer

Dr. Lee joined P.K. Mullick MD & Associates in 2014. She is a doctorally-prepared psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and a nurse researcher whose research interest is implementing behavioral intervention programs based on strategies aimed at improving physical and mental health outcomes for individuals with serious mental illness. Over the past years, she has conducted research projects to improve health of people with serious mental illness. She has been a registered nurse since 1994 and a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner since 2007. She is bilingual in English and Korean and helps people with diverse background to make progress during their treatment.

William Sorrell

William (Bill) Sorrell, is a board certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker and certified additions counselor, who has treated a wide range of clients and clinical issues in all levels of care for almost 35 years. He has managed/directed several outpatient clinics, supervised numerous therapist and interns, taught various self-improvement/self-help courses, and worked on "the other side" in managed care for Blue Cross and Aetna. Bill earned a Master in Social Services (MSS) from Bryn Mawr College and a BA from Eastern University, plus attended Bryn Mawr Hospital's School of Nursing. He has served in virtually every treatment setting from long-term inpatient to outpatient/EAP services with a broad range of clientele. Highlights of his wide expertise are treatment of addition & codependency, adult ADHD, work-place issues, the challenges of male-female relationships, and finding purpose/meaning within disability. His approach to therapy is acting as a guide and coach in a collaborative partnership toward what each client decides is uniquely important to him or her and while respecting each person's vulnerabilities.

Seema Chaubey, LPC

Seema Chaubey is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She joined P.K. Mullick M.D. & Associates in 2014. She has more than 20 years experience in counseling families with children, adolescents, adults and couples. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational therapy and Gestalt therapy to address trauma resolution, depression and anxiety management, relational problems, and dually diagnosed patients. She has a Master of Arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Sue joined P.K. Mullick MD & Associates in 2014. She has been a registered nurse for over 20 years. Sue has experience working in various settings.

Shubha manages P.K. Mullick MD & Associates with the assistance of diligent and efficient office staff. Together, the front office team facilitates patient care by handling prior authorizations, pharmacy requests, insurance verification, and scheduling.
